Washington, D.C. – WTOP Radio announced today the launch of a new web site – WtopNoticias.com. The Spanish-language news web site is a partnership between WTOP Radio, Associated Press Spanish Online, and Washington Hispanic – the leading Hispanic newspaper in the Washington Metro area.

WtopNoticias.com will be an extension of wtopnews.com with content independent from wtopnews.com. The site currently features news headlines updated 24/7 from the Associated Press. There are plans to expand the content with audio and Podcasting from WTOP Radio and Washington Hispanic.

Topics covered on WtopNoticias.com, and provided by AP, will be U.S. News, Latin American News, Sports, Business, Health, and Technology. Washington Hispanic newspaper will be providing local news content.

“The fastest-growing segment of thepopulation in ourregion is the Hispanic community,” says WTOP VP of News and Programming, Jim Farley. “It makes all the sense in the world to be able to provide them with world, national and local news and sports in Spanish on our web platform.”

“ Information is power and I believe the better informed our community is, the better for all of us” said Mr. Johnny Yataco, President of Washington Hispanic. “The fact that we will be providing local news to the WTOP Spanish website, one of the most respected radio stations in the nation, says a lot about our company as the best newsprint provider in this region. We are extremely happy with this association. WTOP, AP, and Washington Hispanic Newspaper. It does not get better than that”.

WTOP Radio has been the source of news, traffic and weather in the Washington metro area for 35 years. It broadcasts on 820 am and 103.5 FM, and is one of four radio stations in D.C. owned by Bonneville International Corporation.
